Hi guys - After having tonns of fun with my first 2 Supers (Superjuice and 86Jeep style Super) I decided to build my own Super with a Carbon Fibre chassis from my team (thanks Marc and Nick, your great guys "thumbsup") and some goodies from my other parteners. My actual 86Jeep Blue Crabon Super is for sale as RTR, contact me, if you are interessted... Here are the first pix: There are parts from allover the world on the way to my shop and so I'm starting slowly but surely. This Chaotic Super Special Pro will be done with Super Berg axles, modified with some fine D-Lux parts and off course with Super300's, Egressors Felsenfest knuckles and knuckleweights, D-Lux Titanium links and some further goodies whitch are helping to make this Big Baby strong and lightweighted. Going on with Traxxas Big Bore shocks and of course I'll keep the idea with my Alu Spacers and Alu/Titanium hardware. Electronics will be HH BR-XL x 2 and Castle BEC x 2, I heard that the Battery Man is doing great jobs on that, so it seems the way to go. Some good Brood motors and 3 Futaba BLS157HV servos (2 x front, 1 x rear) will help for the beginning. I've no idea on wheels yet, have some sets here and will starting with those, Erik makes some great Super Wheels, Jeremy too, so that seems not to get a problem. And Ryan from East Coast RC makes perfect cut'n'shuts, so I'll get what I want on wheels. Skinz will come from Michelle/Krawler Konceptz, she's doing even impossible things fast and professional, so there is no better way to go. The target weight for Supers seems to be around 6 lbs; so I have 2'631 gramms left for the rest ;-) This will not be a "Dani quick-build" as you are used to get, I'm taking my time and my plan is to do the French Nationals (BIG2012) end of July with this Big Baby. Thanks to ChaoticCrawlers, D-Lux, East Coast RC, Krawler Konceptz and everybody else who is supporting me to get this build come true. regards Dani
Oh MY GODNESS That will be sick, I can't wait to see the next . I know somme guy around here will check this build with attention    Me first ....... :blerp3: See ya soon Fred
some further steps, guys: Here some more pix ... Front axle 374 gramms / 13.19 oz -- has to loose some oz Rear axle 337 gramms / 11.89 oz -- same game as the front axle... Shocks (4" Bigbores with long TRX Rodends) 74.1 gramms / 2.61 oz -- not to bad, target weight is 66 gramms / 2.33 oz Preparing for the link work Wheelbase at 462 mm / 18.19" -- can be shortened a bit... Side view an later on I started with producing the first set of dummy links : next step, upper link dummies have been done... and then she has been a roller... links are only to play with but I'm not far away... some tests and some fine tuning with the dummy links, the I can go ahead. Sorry about the bad pix quality, guys, only handy pix and bad light in the shop today... regards Dani
some news... all the Ti Links and the steering links are ready to bend and assemble... Chaotic Crawlers has the complet sets (16 pcs.) rod ends with Alu balls... the new D-Lux Wheels with the Khaos Tires from East Coast RC has arrived in Switzerland; great Job Erik and Ryan, thanks; I have to found some weight to lose, they are just a bit to heavy... cutting the Khaos, seem's to be a neverending work, but must be done... done! have to bend some links tomorrow... and here we go with some work on the panelz... prepared and cleaned the lexan panel, normally I'll take 0.5mm for the panelz but for the Super I took 0.8 mm. put on the skinz all the holes for fixing the panelz at the chassis have been marked in my template and Michelle cutted them. So it's very easy to make the holes in the lexan later... done: just cutting the panelz... and making the holes in: and the family is almost complete... and the with the rest of the roller... still missing the lower rear links and hoping to get them tomorrow, but the rest brings enough work for the moment. preparing the Ti links: and putting things together: and some close ups: and a top view (steering tie rods aren't done yet, I know...) and with Khaos Super tires from East Coast RC, thanks again Ryan, amazing job "thumbsup" she's much to narrow at the moment, will go at least 1.5 - 2.0" wider, but got a pic with some steering: now I'm waiting on the rear lowers and then I can fix all the D-Lux axle parts; electronics are ready so far and thinking about to rollout Saturday...
Thanks guys :yes3: have some more pix, she's running now and I have to make the setup for the BIG2012. some weight savings on the shocks (thanks Manu!): and all the electronics wired up: and with Panels in the Crawler-Halle rocks: she makes fun so far, the rear axle works nearly perfekt, front is a bit to stiff, but I'll look forward to try out some different setups...
