Hi guys - needing a Scale rig for the Super Shafty.com Scale Dash & Poker Run at the Crawler Nats, I had to do something. I found a used Mattzilla truggy chassis with a pinched Hilux Cab and there we go. The scale runs at Nats are a bit special, very long (ca. 4.5 km) and rather fast driven. So this rig has to be bullet-proof and fast. here you can see another Scale run at the Nats location: http://vimeo.com/41419193#at=0 If I thought back, one of my favourite scalers in the past, was my Ironworker Hilux, so that's the way to go again... Gonna make it old school with AX axles, a bullet proof Axial Tranny (all steel), TRX 32 dp mod, MIP Drivelines, Egressors Felsenfest lockers, Axial HD Bevel gears with an overdrive in front, a.s.o. The wheels will be RC4WD Pro 10 Beadlocks with some Pitbull Rockbeast 1.9 scale tires. Foams from Eddie (Crawler Innovation) but a bit customized; I like very soft foams in my crawlers, so I do the same here... Cause I can't get a Quicksand winch, I built one by myself out of a Savöx 20 kg servo. some pix: A strong servo (7950 ), stronger ESC/motor combo (MMP w. Pro4 3'300 instead of FXR w. Trinity GM 3 27T), 32 dp mod with TRX spur gear, HD bevel gears with overdrive in the front axle, VP shafts (replacing the Axials) and later on VP 8* C's/Knuckles. The ESC/motor combo is ready but I'm waiting on the 32 dp spur and the VP shafts, so the first rides will be with the Trinity motor. Like the red colour, so I took this with black for my paint job.
